Paris je t' aime!!!!!!

Viviene Westwood

Chanel

As this is the last post about Paris, I would like to share with you some images that were really inspiring for me and my friends!!!!!!
First of all as I told you before , we were lucky to see an exhibition about the most important fashion designers from the 90's and the 00's.

Galliano

Unfortunately, there are not enough words to describe some of the exhibits we saw there.....for me one of the most beautiful creations was a dress-sculpture from Issey Miyake: on a video you could see from the catwalk that as the model was walking the dress changed its shape.... Of course it's always great pleasure to be able to see the work of the "maitres de la mode" like Galliano, Westwood,  Yamamoto, Gaultier, Lacroix, Alaia, Ford and others....

After this museum, we went straight to Colette, one of the hippest shops in Paris!!!! you can't imagine how many were pushing each other  in front of the shop's windows in order to take a photo... and of course my turn came: as you can see......really these windows were something else...

as for the shop.... let's say  I was totally focused on the windows....as everything else in the shop would cost a fortune....
Last but not least I have to tell you that although I was on a diet, I wasn't able to eat everything I wished to....but I made some exceptions, and I tried some of the famous french gourmet flavours.... the famous french onion soup was delicious, and of course every food that had on its recipe, foie gras, or goat cheese.... we enjoyed plates with duck and many different kind of french pastries, along with the famous macarons!!!!!
...wow, now I feel hungry.......so I am going to eat something (ok something not gourmet, but dieting)

elles @ centrepompidou: women artists in the collections of the National Modern Art Museum

On our first day in Paris we visited one of the most amazing museums and centres of art in Europe: centre Pompidou.
If someone wants to have a taste of the most important artists of the 20th century this is the place that has to go!!!! Apart  the collections of the centre from, the building itself, is in my opinion, a work of art also. Although that it was built back in 1977, still is so modern, and one of a kind.

These days   Beaubourg (as it is also known, and means disambiguation had a thematic exhibition which was named elles and was devoted to the women artists from the 20th century to the present day.
Paintings, sculptures, photography, video art, and other installations all created by women......Really I was amazed, speechless, and yes jealous........
After we saw this exhibition we moved to another thematic exhibition about Mondrian and the De Stijl movement, but sorry there are no photos, as we were prohibited to take some.....:(

In the end we had the chance to see the permanent modern art exhibition of the museum.

Work from Picasso, Braque, Matisse, Kandinsky, Cezanne to mention a few, managed to leave us once again  speechless.....
Till the next post with more photos of Paris, (especially with some extraordinary costumes from the fashion exhibition @ the musee of arts and decoratifs ...) à tout à l'heure!!!!!!!!

Drama Queen @ Paris

This week Drama Queen came back from a trip to Paris.....
Although it was a trip mainly for business reasons, getting away from the everyday routine is nice and visiting Paris is always "formidable"!!!!!!
It is for sure a magic lightfull city, where inspiration can be found in different ways and forms!!!
As this was not my fisrt time in Paris, and our schedule was tight, I was able to visit only two museums: Centre Pompidou, and Le musee des arts decoratifs!!! Centre Pompidou held an  exhibition tribute to women artists of the 20th century, and also a tribute to Mondrian and the De Stijl movement. Le musee des arts decoratifs held an exhibition about the fashion designers who were the milestones of the decades 90's and 00's.  Both were super!!!!!
Later I will share with you some photos of the exhibitions we saw....
Bisous & au revoir ( with more photos ...)

living in MEC

Twice a year, in Athens there is a trade show of jewellry, handmade jewellery and many other various artistic objects!!!!!
I participate in this show in MEC in Paiania for the last 3 years. Most of the times I share the space with Marilia_M. who is a friend who also makes beutiful handmade jewellery!!!!
Although it is a very stressfull time for the participants of the show, (how to decorate the space, to organise best the products, etc) and it is very tiring spending 11 hours per day there, it is also very intersting....
you meet with other creative people, people who have intersting ideas, you share with them your anxiety about having the best next idea, about wholesale orders, about materials, about copycat products and so on and on and on....and although you meet them just twice a year, spending so many hours of the day, for 5 days with them, you feel familiar and even close to some....
Sooooooo it's time to go there, but in my next post I ll share photos
wish me luck!!!!!
